If you’re looking to ring in the new year with a new HTPC you might want to look at the ZOTAC ZBOX HD-ND22. This is a barebones PC so you need to add HD, ram and OS. With this little bad boy you can run XBMC, Plex, Windows Media CenterBoxee and OpenElec as frontend software. XBMC, Boxee and Openelec can be ran without a OS while Windows Media Center and Plex both need to run on top of an existing OS.

Compared to the other Zotac nettops, the Zotac Zbox HD-ND22 is packed with the Celeron SU2300 1.2 GHz cpu. Going with the Celeron cpu makes this nettop more responsive and faster overall compared to the Atom + Ion nettops.

Pairing this with Flirc you can control it with any remote you currently own.
